Spotlight {Shirlee Keddington}

David Keddington was born in Salt Lake City, Utah.  He attended Skyline High School and served a mission in the São Paulo Brazil Mission in 1994-1996.  He graduated from the University of Utah with a BS in Chemical Engineering.

Shirlee Braithwaite was born in Arco, Idaho.  She attended Butte High School and Ricks College, graduating with an Associate of Arts and Sciences and an Associate in Office Education.  She then moved to Salt Lake City and worked in the LDS Church Office Building in the Tax Division.  She decided to go back to school and attended the University of Utah and gained a Certificate in Web Multimedia Design.

While attending the University of Utah, we met in our University Singles Ward and got married on April 23, 2002.  Immediately following we made our home in New Orleans, Louisiana, where Dave worked for Shell Oil Company as a Reservoir Engineer.

After two years there, we decided more school was in our best interest, and we moved to Cambridge, Massachusetts, where Dave earned his MBA from Harvard Business School in 2006.  Shirlee worked for Harvard University while he attended school.

Dave started work for Transocean, an offshore oil drilling company, immediately upon graduation, and we moved to Houston, Texas.  There we lived for two years, during which the birth of our first child, Maya, occurred. Transocean relocated their headquarters to Geneva, Switzerland, in 2008 so we packed up and moved again.  Ethen was born while we lived in Geneva.

Less than a year later, our family moved to Cairo, Egypt, because of a transfer within the company.

We were transferred again in 2010 to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, one month before the rioting broke out in Cairo.

We loved living in Malaysia.  This time we stayed for a little over a year before returning to Texas.  We've lived in Houston before, and were very excited to come back again.

However, there are lots of aspects of international life that we miss and love to reminisce about.

We have served in branches as little as 12 people and have not been to a "real" ward for a very long time.  Katy 3rd actually has every auxiliary functioning!?  Amazing!  We're so glad to be a part of it.
