In RS today, Sister Russell gave a brief synopses on the new manual for the year 2013. It is on the life and teaching of President Lorenzo Snow.
We have new manuals to hand out. Please, if you didn't get one in RS today or we don't catch you next week in your classes, come get one from us. Also, if you know your VT sisters have been out of town, please grab one for them. Reading the lessons before hand goes a long way in helping you relate more spiritually to the lessons when given.
Sister Russell shared an experience she had where they used to live. At the time, her neighborhood would allow chickens. She loved her chickens and while learning about them she discovered that when a hen lays her eggs, she goes into the coop and quietly struggles though it. At the same time, the other hens come in and make a lot of noise as if talking her and encouraging her through it. Sister Russell compared these hens to those of us in RS. We all have challenges at different times. We come to church and sometimes need the support of other sisters around us. Then other times, we are the ones giving the support. What a great organization we have that we can be there to support and help each other.
