Our Relief Society President, Sister Field gave a great lesson this Sunday.
She started by having everyone anonymously fill out two pieces of paper. One stating one thing we struggle with and the other stating one thing we do well.
She gathered up the one stating what we struggled with.
She talked to us about how a lot of times we think that everyone else has it all together when in reality we all have struggles. The things we struggle with are usually at the forefront of our minds not leaving much room for us to think about the things we are actually good at. While we all have our struggles, most importantly we are all trying to come unto Christ.
Lisa then shared the struggles that we in RS are battling.
Getting kids to bed and doing homework
giving my kids the right amount of independence
where to put things/too many piles
managing my moods
health
social anxiety- sometimes we struggle with things no once can see
dealing with my husband
marriage
paying taxes
being so far away from family
empty nest syndrome - we get so used to life being a certain way, and then it changes

husbands illness
After reading through our struggles, Sister Field asked us to think about how we are talking and thinking about ourselves. Just like our young women are taught, we are divine in nature. Our Heavenly Father loves us deeply. We all have different gifts that are all needed. The atonement is for everything we struggle with. Not only does it help with our sins, but Christ took on all of our pain. He understands exactly how we are feeling.
