Wow!
Our Enrichment board really out did themselves.
Thank you Jen, Sarah, Stephanie, Brooke, Amy, Jessica and Linsey!
The Christmas dinner was fabulous from the decorations to the food to the speakers. It was great catching up with old and new faces with time to socialize which sometimes is hard to find at church. It's activities like these that remind us what a great ward we have with even better people.
A huge thank you to everyone that helped.
For all the behind the scenes organization.
For the men that gave an evening of their time to serve us AND clean up.
For the women who gave the much inspired devotionals.
For the Young Women that provided the babysitting.
For the Katy 4 youth that provided the music.
And last, but definitely not least, the preparation of a delicious meal.
Sister Swope from Katy 2nd ward spoke to us and had a few of us relay some Christmas experiences that made a difference in our lives. She then had everyone take a card and write to someone in the room something that we admire or appreciate in them. It was really well reciprocated and I know several of us had a hard time stopping at one.
Take time this week to continue that. If you were unable to attend last night, take a moment this week and think of one person (or several) that you could drop a note, facebook message or text, letting them know that they are appreciated.
After Sister Swope's talk our RS President read a conversion story that reminded us of how blessed we are to have the gospel in our lives. Sometimes we can take for granted what a gift we have because it's such an everyday part of our lives. Especially at this time of year when Christ should be at the forefront, it can take a backseat to the craziness and business of the holiday season. Take a moment, or several, this holiday season to reflect on the gift that this gospel is and the role Christ had in bringing it to our lives.
